Does Compression Wear Make Sense For Horses?
It may seem like we are horsing around a little with this post but if you think this is a joke think again and keep reading.
Similar to human performance athletes who protect their muscles with graduated compression stockings, tights and socks four legged athletes can now benefit from graduated compression as well. An innovative new compression suit is now available for top flight race horses.
The compression suit is specifically designed to get an edge on competitors by optimizing the horse’s blood circulation particularly during periods of immobility (e.g. for long distance transport on a plane to far away competitions). The graduated compression garment for race horses also claims to protect against sore muscles and help shorten the recovery time, which is very much like compression garments and hosiery for serious athletes.
Compression suits for horses are made by the Australian company Hidez located on the outer edge of Sydney. If you would like to find out more about this innovative idea please follow the link below…
