Tell Your Story About Compression And Support Pantyhose

We would like to invite you to share your story with us and other readers of this blog in the comments below.

How are support hose or compression stockings helping you feeling better in your daily living?

Please Share Your Compression and Support Hosiery Experiences for the Benefit of all Readers:

  • Do you wear them at work especially if you have to sit or stand for long periods of time during the day – tell us what occupation you are working in?
  • Do support pantyhose or compression stockings help your legs from getting tired or achy?
  • Do they keep your legs and feet from swelling up during the day?
  • Do you wear support pantyhose or compression stockings for preventative reasons or do you have a medical need (e.g. varicose veins, venous insufficiency, edema just to name a few)?
  • If you are wearing support pantyhose or stockings for preventative care – which brand do you prefer or like best and why?
  • If you are wearing compression socks, stockings or pantyhose – what issues are you addressing with them – what compression level and what brand are you wearing?
  • If you have varicose veins do the compression stockings keep them from becoming painful throughout the day?

Compression stockings, socks and pantyhose are specially designed hosiery to prevent blood and fluid from pooling in the leg veins and surrounding tissue.  Most commonly these compression garments are used by individuals suffering from venous conditions or swelling of the legs and feet.

Graduated compression stockings and support hosiery can be applied by anyone working in standing or sitting occupations to help improve circulation throughout their work day.

Compression stockings, pantyhose, leggings or socks work by applying pressure to the legs to keep the blood moving more efficiently back to the heart and lungs to be reoxigenated.  The graduated compression of these garments is the strongest at the ankle area from where it lessons gradually going up the leg and being the weakest at the top of the thighs.

I’m an over the road truck driver, I wear full support pantyhose everyday to help relieve the discomfort of sitting and driving for long periods at a time.

I also have vericose veins in my right leg, have restless legs, and full support pantyhose help.

I wear hanes alive, leggs sheer energy active support as my main go to hose. I also have tried graduated compression pantyhose but have found that hanes/leggs do just as well for the cost.

As a guy, I wear them with shorts, jeans, ect. The benefits outweigh any criticism that may occur, my health is more important that what people say or think.

    To answer your questions:
I have worn compression stockings for maybe 8 or 9 years and I wear them all the time. I started with wearing the knee high 15-20 and then acquired an inflamed vein in my left leg from international flights. I was then graduated to 30-40 thigh highs. If I do not wear my stockings, my legs become very sore and it is difficult for me to sleep at night. Therefore, I wear them to work, golfing, dinners…all the time.

It became apparent the thigh highs gave me welts in warm weather where the silicon dots hit my thighs, so I switched to pantyhose. They are much more comfortable for me than thighhighs. They don’t slip down, no welts, and they also help with a varicolecele I have acquired.

The only brand I wear, after trying many is Juzo. I wear their Soft product under my trousers without socks. They look more like trouser socks than men’s socks, but I am far from caring and nobody has ever said anything.

One of the more interesting things is that I don’t mind wearing them in 90 degree weather, even if it is humid, while golfing because I wear the real light weight dry fit pants. It is like not wearing pants at all. Very comfortable.

Wearing the support pantyhose is a godsend for me. When wearing the thighhighs, I still have some discomfort in my legs, but not with the pantyhose. This is because I have bad veins in my thighs as well.

My job has me traveling by air 80% of the time both domistically and internationally. I would never board a plane without wearing my support pantyhose.
